My wife and I have always wanted to try Indian food but had steered away from it until today. We moved back to the area about two years ago after spending ten years away. While I had often heard of Sitar of India, we unfortunately never tried it, what a downfall that was! As we entered the restaurant, we were immediately met with a clean environment and delightful aromas that suggested the food was cooked with love. The staff was very friendly, which added to the welcoming atmosphere. We ordered Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, Meat Samosas, Vegetable Samosas, Garlic Naan, and rice. When we took our first bites of the samosas, my wife discovered peas in them. Although she's not a fan of peas, she surprisingly couldn't stop eating them! For our main course, we dipped the naan into the sauces while enjoying the chicken, and the flavors were simply bursting. Needless to say, I think Sitar of India has opened our palates to a whole new avenue of cuisine. We will definitely be back and are excited to try other dishes!

Second time here in the last few years. Drove a little over an hour to sit down for dinner & the staff might as well be family. They had this beautiful 2 year old girl that made quick friends with my daughter, dinner and a show. Amazing place to stop and check out if you like Indian cuisine. 10\10 recommend the lamb korma.

Absolutely incredible dining experience! From the moment we walked into Sitar of India, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a welcoming atmosphere. The service was exceptional--Singh was just as amazing as the food itself, attentive and gracious throughout the evening. We started with the Chicken Tikka appetizer and a bowl of lentil soup, both bursting with flavor and setting the tone for an unforgettable meal. For our main course, we shared the Aloo Matar, Chicken Tikka Masala, naan bread, and perfectly cooked basmati rice--every bite was a delicious celebration of authentic Indian cuisine. We ended our meal with a Mango Lassi, which was beyond amazing--so refreshing, smooth, and the perfect finish to a rich and flavorful dinner. Highly recommend this gem in Charleston for anyone craving top-notch Indian food with outstanding service. We'll definitely be back if we happen to be in the area.

Went with my wife and had possibly the greatest service I've ever had at any restaurant. The staff was very attentive and extremely friendly, asking us both how we were and making small talk about the weather. I could hear the staff asking regulars about their family and friends as well, it's clear that they really care about their customers. And the food is the best Indian food I've ever had!

Excellent food and atmosphere. Friendly service, yet I leave feeling like a stranger in another world. It's not their fault; I should learn the language! Definitely give this place your time and money. The lunch buffet is beyond description and worth every penny of the price. The stemware and linen is the perfect compliment to the food.
